Launch Week / First Session Checklist

The Relic: First Guardian is available now on PC (Steam) and PlayStation 5. This checklist still helps during launch week and your first sessions — patches, storefronts, study tracks, and opening goals — without inventing unverified codes or fake GPU tables.

Use it beside the countdown tool (now showing launched status) and the release date matrix.

First session (joining now)

Whether you bought day one or arrive a week later:

Final 48 hours (launch week)

  • Re-read Skill Trees so your first altar investment is deliberate
  • Confirm your weapon family on Weapons and Crafting
  • Check Launch News for the latest patch row
  • Enable automatic updates on PS5; keep Steam online
  • Mute spoiler channels until you reach your first Tibelle’s Blessing

Storage and downloads

  • Confirm purchase on the correct platform account
  • Reserve SSD space for install + patch buffer
  • Pause other large downloads during big patch downloads
  • Bookmark Official Links for emergency publisher posts

Account and entitlement checks

  • If you pre-ordered, confirm Night of the Unextinguished Flamepre-order bonus
  • If you skipped pre-order, consider DLC and editions (~$9.99)
  • Know that typed promo codes are still unverified — do not chase generators
  • Physical PS5 disc owners: your date is September 4, 2026

PC-specific (Steam app 2827820)

  • Update GPU drivers during launch week
  • Re-read system requirements — Steam lists CPU/RAM; GPU lines sparse
  • Treat Steam Deck as experimental until patches land
  • Judge performance after Patch 1+, not during first install

PS5-specific

  • Confirm DualSense charge and controls preferences
  • Keep rest mode updates enabled
  • Expect post-launch performance patches alongside PC

Study checklist

First evening sequence

  1. Install base game → apply patches → start character
  2. Claim pre-order or DLC entitlements on first boot if applicable
  3. Play until your first Tibelle’s Blessing without doomscrolling spoilers
  4. Complete one Event Trail → Sealing Stone → dungeon before branching wildly
  5. Spend Relic Energy on a single skill tree
  6. Stop after one Brutal wall or one clear win — fatigue causes bad Relic socketing

What to watch after you boot

Xbox and Switch 2 players

Your window is still later summer 2026 without a locked day. Use this checklist when Perp Games names the date — systems prep transfers completely.

Check the boxes, then play. Arsiltus rewards Guardians who patch first and explore second.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

When should I start the launch checklist?

Use the first-session boxes whenever you install the game during launch week. Run the evening sequence after patches finish downloading.

Do I need the pre-order bonus to follow this list?

No. The checklist works for standard editions. Pre-order owners should still verify entitlements via the [bonus page](/updates/pre-order-bonus/).

Are PC specs finalized?

Steam lists CPU/RAM minimum and recommended lines plus ultrawide 21:9. GPU rows remain sparse — see [system requirements](/tools/system-requirements/).

What is the first in-game goal on launch night?

Reach a Tibelle's Blessing, finish one Event Trail for a Sealing Stone, and invest Relic Energy into one weapon tree — see [Sealing Stones](/guides/sealing-stones-and-events/).
