Release Date and Platforms

The Relic: First Guardian is available now on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. The official headline launch was July 31, 2026 — though Steam may display July 30 in some timezones depending on regional unlock. Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 versions arrive later in summer 2026. A physical PlayStation 5 edition follows on September 4, 2026.

This page keeps those facts in one place and explains how to join now — install patches, buy or play on Steam, language support, DLC entitlements, and which wiki guides to read first.

The Relic: First Guardian is Project Cloud Games’ soulslike ARPG debut, published by Perp Games. You explore Arsiltus as a Guardian wielding one of five weapon families, socketing seventy-plus Relics, and facing roughly eighty Brutals. Progression runs through twelve skill trees with defense-only stamina — learn that rule before your first evening.

Available now — PC and PS5 digital

Digital owners on Steam (app 2827820) and PSN can play today. Install Patch 1+ before a long session — summary on post-launch support. Steam unlock times can differ by region; trust your storefront timer over fan widgets if they disagree.

Date history (why older articles mention May)

An earlier digital window of May 26, 2026 appeared in late-2025 messaging. In June 2026, Perp Games re-confirmed July 31, 2026 as the PC and PS5 launch. The game shipped on that date. If a blog still quotes May, treat it as outdated. Our launch news timeline tracks the move.

What launches when

PC and PS5 digital are live. Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2 players should monitor Perp Games announcements for their window — confirmed as later summer 2026 without a locked day. Physical PS5 collectors get discs September 4, 2026, with map + Night of the Unextinguished Flame + Black Banquet DLC per bundle messaging — details on DLC and editions.

Night of the Unextinguished Flame (DLC)

The former pre-order pack is now also sold as digital DLC (~$9.99 / ~£7.99) for buyers who did not pre-order. Pre-order owners should have automatic entitlement. Full item text lives on pre-order bonus and DLC and editions.

Steam languages

Steam lists interface and subtitle support for English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Korean, Japanese, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese, with full audio in English. This fan wiki currently offers English, French, German, and Spanish navigation — see the language switcher in the header.

System requirements (PC)

Steam now lists minimum and recommended CPU/RAM lines plus ultrawide 21:9 support. GPU rows remain sparse on the store page — see our system requirements tool for the live table and post-launch performance advice. Steam Deck is not recommended yet.

Day-one expectations (still relevant launch week)

Patch 1 shipped July 31 (~4pm BST) with field, exploration, event, combat, VO, and localization fixes. Budget time for Patch 2/3 performance updates. Mixed Steam reviews reflect technical variance — update before you judge. Rest at Tibelle’s Blessing before rerolling your entire build over one hard Brutal.

Cross-play and performance expectations

Cross-play remains to be confirmed in official channels. Use post-launch support and review hub for live-player reception alongside preview praise.
